Version 1 Rev 454
(2011/12/21 10:37:26)

Colony @ BioHPC
(version 2.0 )
Please send comments to biohpc@cornell.edu.

COLONY is a Fortran program written by Jinliang Wang. It implements a maximum likelihood method to assign sibship and parentage jointly, using individual multilocus genotypes at a number of codominant or dominant marker loci.

It can be used in estimating full- and half-sib relationships, assigning parentage, inferring mating system (polygamous/monogamous) and reproductive skew in both diploid and haplo-diploid species.

Wang J. 2004. Sibship reconstruction from genetic data with typing errors. Genetics 166: 1963-1979.

You will have to upload the main input file, Colony2.dat, which contains your data and parameters to run. The best way to create your input file is to download and install Colony.exe on your computer and use it to create your file. Please note that absolute path names are not allowed in the main input file, so the first two lines of your data file will be changed. Line 1 will be changed to your Job name (dataset name), line 2 will be changed to the Output File (Output file name).

Calculations will be carried out on the BioHPC compute cluster at CBSU. You will receive e-mail notifications when the job is submitted, when it starts, and when it is finished. Output will be available via links embedded in the notification e-mails. For more information about this program and BioHPC interface in general, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Please acknowledge us in all publications and presentation of work that used our resources using the following text.
